Youth Empowerment

CTFS "EXP" Journey
Community Partners: St. James Settlement Upcycling Center and PolyU Design School

Since its launch in 2020, the “EXP” Journey has been a flagship programme centered around three strategic themes: Explore, Experience, and Experiment.

In 2024, the programme focuses on service users from St. James’ Settlement’s Kin Chi Dementia Care Support Service Centre, as well as the Pilot Scheme on New Service Protocols for Children and Adolescents with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Comorbidity (ADHD). Through visits, students from PolyU Design School gain insights into the needs of individuals with dementia and ADHD. They are tasked with creating practical and meaningful productor solutions to address these needs, applying the principles of design thinking.

Empower for change

Read-to-learn Chinese for Ethnic Minority

Community Partner: Christian Action

Since 2022, CTFS and Christian Action have collaborated to provide regular Chinese enrichment classes and activities for underprivileged Ethnic Minority (“EM”) children in Hong Kong. This initiative aims to ignite their passion for learning and improve their proficiency in Chinese and Cantonese for everyday use.

We believe that strengthening Chinese language abilities must start from a young age. By focusing on early language development, we aim to enhance their proficiency, which is crucial for better integration into school life and the broader community. Proficient Chinese language skills facilitate the integration of EM children into school life, enhance their comprehension of teaching materials, and foster greater community engagement for their families.

Build for support

Festive joy can be as simple as a heartfelt gesture.

During festive seasons such as Mid-Autumn Festival, Christmas, and Lunar New Year, volunteers will form small groups to visit elderly centres, hospitals, and ethnic minority communities. They will bring along festive gift packs, handwritten cards, and performances, sharing the warmth of the season and fostering a spirit of inclusiveness for all.
